Valve does not hold under pressure and leaks. Also, once you start to back off the valve in order to add refrigerant you cannot go completely open with it. Otherwise it will not allow refrigerant to pass and charge the system. You have to open the valve slowly and watch the gauge needle for fluctuations and stop the valve there (sweet spot) in order to allow refrigerant to pass and charge up system. As for the accuracy of the gauge itself, it’s cheap, there’s a plus or minus in its accuracy, better to be a bit under than over. Best to use a proper set of gauges if you want to be accurate. Overall, hey what do you expect for under $25.
